David Dixon
In the education field, I have served in many capacities from kindergarten through college-level. These experiences have given me a wide array of teaching experiences and working in different settings. I have also had to juggle between extra duties and classroom management. I have served as an Education Coordinator in post-graduate medical education, Project Team Leader for Information Technology course development, instruction, and recruitment.
I am currently serving as a Learning and Behavioral Disorders Teacher. In this position, I am tasked with managing a caseload of 20-25 students, collaborating across high school grade levels in various subjects, and advocating for special education students. In addition, I teach a sophomore Language Arts enrichment lab course for remediation and intervention.
In my position at SKCTC, I was tasked with supervisory duties over one full-time staff members, four course developers, one part-time student worker, and several adjunct faculty members, completing all budget-related activities, reporting information to the Department of Labor. I also worked with marketing and recruitment for the program, managing several marketing campaigns targeted toward students and employer partners, created graphics, flyers, and brochures. Additionally, I was responsible for creation of a quarterly newsletter and final recap video. I also work closely with faculty using Blackboard providing training, assistance, and troubleshooting.
I have presented on various topics in Higher Education at national conferences from Powerful LMS Integrations to Meeting the Needs of Diverse Learners.
I serve as the Director Multimedia and Public Relations at Church on the Hill. These duties include serving as the webmaster and developer for church website, managing the church videocast and Facebook pages. I also manage multimedia presentation software during church services & community services.
I am currently serving my fifth term on the Cumberland City Council.
